Contrary to other robovacs that we tested, the i3+ EVO features a self-emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's filled. The i3+ EVO can be prevented from overfilling with a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be manually emptied at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dust bin holds 2.4L of debris, which is more than enough to get it through four or five cleaning sessions before you need to replace it.
Like the i7model, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores a single map while the i7 is able to store multiple maps. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO can't.
While the i3+ EVO is better in picking up surface debris than some of the other robovacs we reviewed but it's not the best when it comes to cleaning edges and corners. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pushed chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it became stuck on cords and toys during testing.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
If you're looking to expand your robot vacuum collection or just starting out with the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs serious power, advanced navigation, and handy automation into a sleek and stylish design at an affordable price. It's the best pound-for-pound model available today and even matches some of Roborock's much pricier models in several ways.
This robot does a great job cleaning bare floors and its avoidance system helps it steer clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and scores a high score in our tests of navigation. The only drawback is that it's a little more raucous than the other models we test and doesn't perform as well in our owners satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust container of 770ml. This means you won't have to empty it as frequently as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also a lot when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. If the battery is depleted it goes back to its dock and recharges before resuming cleaning where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
